Andrew Tate case: Based on the "War Room" conversations, a lot of women were groomed for erotic jobs

Under the pseudonym of Iggy Semmelweis, the man in Andrew Tate's circles encouraged group members to commit violence against women

According to the BBC, they found evidence that Andrew Tate and his "followers" tried to involve dozens of women in erotic jobs.

Based on the group chat messages written and leaked between March 2019 and April 2020, authorities have identified 45 potential victims, but the total number is likely higher.

The group called "War Room" was created in 2019, and in order to join it, a person had to pay $8,000 a year. Andrew Tate has previously claimed that this group is a network of influential men and those who want to learn from them.

In the messages it seems that War Room group members have demonstrated various techniques they used to exploit victims.

Tate denies any wrongdoing and says he is prepared to defend his own innocence

According to the statement of his press officer, the findings of the BBC were

"another brazen attempt to present one-sided, unverified" allegations against him.

The 36-year-old former kickboxer was charged with rape and human trafficking in Romania.

He was released from house arrest on August 4 pending his trial. Last week, the BBC revealed details of the photographic evidence compiled by Romanian prosecutors.

He is facing charges alongside his brother, Tristan, and two more associates.

All denied allegations that women were forced to do adultworks.

However, the most recent BBC inquiry uncovers intriguing aspects of the matter: it revolves around a collection of 12,000 encrypted Telegram messages exchanged by numerous War Room participants.

Nonetheless, the BBC had access to messages sent within a 13-month timeframe, implying that the count of women potentially at risk of being targeted, exploited, and coerced into doing adult work by the group established in 2019, may be considerably higher.

Tate states that the War Room, with an annual membership fee of $8,000, serves as a community of influential individuals and those seeking to gain knowledge from them.

In his view, the War Room's primary objective is to foster self-discipline, motivation, and the cultivation of self-confidence among its members. He maintains that it provides an entry point to a vast network of professionals who promote the cultivation of a strong sense of responsibility and duty, with a particular focus on taking proactive actions and making informed decisions.

However, leaked online chats show that this is not exactly what the War Room teaches members in its so-called "PhD" course.

The initials "PhD" in this case stand for "Pimpin' Hoes Degree", so it is about grooming women into sex work.

However, we can also see that it is not only Tate's instigation for violence against women that gets under the scrutiny of the authorities:

Certain leaders within the War Room, referred to as "generals," reportedly direct members to engage in romantic seduction, emotional manipulation, and the social isolation of women as a preliminary step before involving them in a webcam job, frequently claiming all or a substantial portion of their earnings.

Although media coverage of the organization primarily concentrated on the Tate brothers, a BBC inquiry revealed that

The actual leader and intellectual driving force behind the War Room is a self-proclaimed "wizard" who goes by the pseudonym "Iggy Semmelweiss."

The messages, exclusively acquired by the BBC, indicate that certain "generals" of Tate provided instructions and encouragement for acts of violence against women.

Among them were images depicting a woman bent over, displaying significant bruising and cuts on her backside, accompanied by the tagline "Who me?".

In another message, a leading member who goes by the pseudonym "Joe Lampton" details his response to a complaint raised by a woman working a sexy job under him.

"I took her keyboard and hit her in the head with it," he wrote in the message.

She went into the room and worked 7 hours without any break.

The BBC interviewed two women who claimed that War Room members coerced them to do erotic jobs

Despite residing thousands of miles apart, their narratives reveal that the men employed identical strategies.

Both women stated that they initially thought they were in romantic relationships with these men, who eventually started manipulating them into prostitution, a strategy commonly referred to as the "loverboy method."

- said "Maria," from Buenos Aires, Argentina, using a pseudonym to protect her identity.

The women have also stated that they endured violence, isolation from friends, while being forced to do menial tasks to demonstrate their submissiveness.



"Amanda," also using a pseudonym, residing on the West Coast of the United States, alleges that at a certain point she surrendered up to 80% of her income from the sexjob, amounting to a total of $95.000, to two War Room members.

Amanda disclosed to the BBC that she received a slap in the face from a "general" who exploited her, and she shared photographs depicting the resulting bruises. She noted:

He had control of everything.

As per the leaked conversations, members of the War Room believe they are applying "Pavlovian conditioning" techniques to women, with one message in the leaks likening it to training dogs.

Typically, these instructions are issued by individuals by the "generals."

Their method of scouting involves a "submission test" such as making women tattoo the initials of a War Room member's name on their bodies.

Eli, a whistleblower who claims to have served as the head of sales and marketing for the Tate organization for a period of two years, conveyed to the BBC:

The War Room is all about you getting women that serve you in your life.

Eli talked about the role of "Iggy Semmelweiss" in War Room. When asked who really controls the group, he said, "Iggy is at the top."

The actual name of "Iggy" is Miles Sonkin

Born in 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, he has a history of involvement in at least two purported cults, developed an interest in far-right ideologies during the 2000s, and seems to have crossed paths with Andrew Tate around 2018. Shortly thereafter, Tate began marketing his own courses, and in 2019, the War Room was founded.

Sonkin sends each new War Room member a reading list and a manifesto that outlines the group's agenda.

Sonkin did not comment when confronted by the BBC outside his home in Los Angeles, California.

However, Andrew Tate - with his 7.6 million Twitter followers and fans who want to imitate his lifestyle - remains at the center of the group, despite the impending trial.

Andrew Tate's spokeswoman issued a statement, according to which the BBC's findings "not only present false accusations, but insult the massive community that considers Andrew Tate a life changing positive force". The statement further includes that Tate "is prepared to take all necessary legal actions to defend his innocence and hold accountable those responsible for defamatory claims".

According to a BBC investigation, it appears that his reputation is being exploited to market a method of abuse to men worldwide.
